Fuzion Scion tC Project Vehicle Showcases
New Fuzion™ HRi Performance Tire Line At SEMA 2004
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November
2, 2004) – Bridgestone Firestone North
American Tire, LLC (BFNT) debuted its latest project
vehicle, the Fuzion Scion tC, in a special area on the
second floor of South Hall at the 2004 Specialty Equipment
Market Association (SEMA) show. Created to promote the
company’s new Fuzion™ HRi performance tire
line being launched at the show, the car was built by
project vehicle specialist Robert Wilson, owner of Modern
Image Signworks, Huntington Beach, Calif.
“This Scion tC project vehicle
promotes our expanded Fuzion product line,” said
Michael Fluck, advertising and Internet manager, BFNT.
“The Fuzion line’s broad market base appeal
is visibly reflected in the accessible modifications
showcased on this innovative project vehicle.”
The new Fuzion HRi product line is
being promoted with a bright orange color scheme. With
this in mind, the Scion tC project car features orange
sherbet pearl paint from BASF along with interior orange
accents, including an imprint of the Fuzion HRi tread
pattern across the door panels.
“The Fuzion HRi tire represents
our commitment to deliver exciting new options to a
wider demographic market,” Fluck added. “Fuzion
is not just a ‘tuner’ tire anymore. You
don’t have to invest thousands of dollars in your
vehicle just to make a statement with it. The Fuzion
HRi is a great choice for the casual car enthusiast.”
The Fuzion HRi is a high-performance
tire that features an asymmetrical tread pattern for
great looks and optimizes handling. It carries an H
speed rating and a UTQG rating of 400 for treadwear,
A for traction and A for temperature. Engineered with
the company’s exclusive UNI-T® technology,
it is available in 24 popular 14- to 17-inch sizes with
aspect ratios ranging from 40- to 65-series.
Following its debut at the SEMA Show,
the Fuzion Scion tC will be exhibited at a host of company
events, product launches and media activities across
the country, as well as at a variety of other automotive
shows in the coming year. The project car will also
be prominently featured on the company’s Fuzion
brand Web site, www.TheFuzionZone.com.
The Fuzion Scion tC features numerous
body, paint, engine, audio/video and interior enhancements,
in addition to the Fuzion HRi performance tires. To
accentuate the sports coupe, the following companies
have supplied product and services for customization
of the car: AEM, BASF, Clarion, Cobra Seats/Sube Sports,
DC Sports, Eibach, Frank’s Auto Body, JD Performance,
Modern Image Signworks, Nitrous Express, Scosche, Stitchcraft,
Wet Works Garage and Wilwood.
Scion brand accessories on the tC include:
sport pedal covers, shift knob, B-pillar appliqué
accents, door sill enhancements, two-tone color steering
wheel, ground effects kit, battery tie down, oil filter
cap and a custom fit car cover.
UNI-T is an acronym for “Ultimate
Network of Intelligent Tire Technology” found
only in Bridgestone, Firestone and select associate
brand tires. One of its core technologies is a Computer
Optimized Component System, CO•CS®, which
uses a super computer to help determine an ideal combination
of tread design, casing shape, materials and construction
for a particular application.
Tires with UNI-T have a special O-Bead®
that helps to eliminate overlapped joints in the bead
assembly, improving the way a tire interacts with the
rim, and providing a rounder assembly for improved stability.
The use of L.L. Carbon®, or Long
Link Carbon, an advanced form of carbon black, produces
a stronger tire and helps to resist cracking, chipping,
tearing and excessive wear.
Nashville-based Bridgestone Firestone
